West Virginia Attractions
Somebody said that there were 700 attractions in southern West Virginia. We can’t verify this number, however we can assure you that there are enough attractions to satisfy every interest. There is so much to do you have to be sure to schedule time for relaxation on your itinerary.
The most visited attraction in West Virginia, only five minutes from Opossum Creek Retreat, is the New River Gorge Bridge. The best views of the bridge are from the Canyon Rim Visitor Center.
The Visitor Center features a variety of exhibits, displays and photos. You’ll also have an opportunity to chat with friendly rangers who have loads of information to share. The visitor center is the best place to orient yourself with the area. Make sure to pick up an official park trail map.
