[...] Now, the tree in question was a favorite, and anyone who’s been to Opossum Creek Retreat knows that we go a long way to blend the cabins into the rest of the environment. I mean, some of the trees are ridiculously close to where we built, but what can I say? I’m a tree hugger. [...]

great story Geoff. I'm glad your green secret is no longer a secret. Anyone who has had the pleasure to experience Opossum Creek Retreat knows your green secret and I'm sure many have shared it with others. It is this type of commitment to responsible development and authentic experiences in Appalachia that encouraged me to form Travel Green Appalachia several years ago to identify, support, and help promote Geoff and the many others who are doing it right, celebrating this place, and sharing it with others. May we celebrate the green experience (or greener as Geoff puts it since he still has hot tubs, A/C, and satellite TV). It's all about that personal commitment which Geoff has that comes through in his business practices. I encourage Geoff and others to no longer keep it a secret but tell your story honestly and effectively for those willing to listen and lucky enough to make the trip and find out for themselves.
